The Bill (Reg. No. 0976) is aimed at enhancement of legal regulation of relations between public statistics bodies and respondents and users of statistical data.
Inter alia, the Bill envisages new wording of Article 16 of the Law "On Public Statistics" that defines principles of relations between public statistics bodies and respondents and users of statistical data as "cooperation, coordination and enhancement of statistical activity".
The supplements to Article 22 envisage its coordination with the Laws "On Environmental Protection" and "On Information". They include initial data concerning water, air, land pollution, allocation of dangerous waste in the environment, conduct of nature protection actions to the list of statistical information which the public statistics bodies are allowed to distribute.
The amendments to the Law "On Public Statistics" envisage its coordination with Article 304 of the Customs Code of Ukraine that regards customs statistics as an integral part of the national system of statistical accounting and reporting.
The Committee members believe that adoption of the said Bill will facilitate realization of strategy of development and reforming of the public statistics system aimed at enhanced cooperation between all the participants of statistical activity. Moreover, adoption of the Bill should improve the quality of statistical data, rendered to the State and the public.
